An eligibility key is the piece of information your employees use to confirm they are eligible for the Wellhub benefit. This is an important decision that is made during your contracting process. This guide explains the options.
There are three main types of information you can use as an eligibility key.
-
Employee Email (Recommended)
This is the most secure and effective option. You can use email in two ways: by providing a specific list of employee emails, or by registering your company's email domain (e.g., @yourcompany.com) to allow any employee with that email to sign up automatically. -
Phone Number
This is a great alternative, especially for non-desk workforces. It provides strong security through a one-time password (OTP) sent via SMS.
💡 Even when using this option, we still highly recommend including an employee's email address where possible to allow for engagement communications. -
Employee ID
This is a flexible option that can be used on its own or, for extra security, can be combined with another piece of information like the Social Insurance Number or first name.
⚠️ Important note for SFTP clients
If you use SFTP for automated payroll or reporting files, please be aware that a new "Phone Number" column will be added to all deduction and report files. If your system relies on a specific column order or count, this change could break your automation. You will receive a direct email communication with the specific release date and technical details.
