HSA (Health Savings Account) and FSA (Flexible Spending Account) are tax-advantaged savings plans that allow you to set aside money pre-tax to cover medical costs, including your Wellhub subscription.
By enabling HSA or FSA as a form of payment, you can use your pre-tax funds to pay for your plan, allowing you to potentially save up to 40% on your subscription costs.
To use HSA or FSA cards as a payment method, you must already have an HSA or FSA account.
With the HSA or FSA payment information set up, a third-party partner, TrueMed, handles the necessary medical eligibility screening through a survey. If you are eligible, TrueMed will issue a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN).
You are redirected to TrueMed to complete a medical intake form. This survey helps a licensed provider review your answers to determine your eligibility for HSA/FSA spending. You may be asked about conditions you have been diagnosed with, family history, and what conditions you are trying to prevent.
The Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) is issued by TrueMed if you are approved for eligibility after submitting your medical intake form.
The LMN is valid for 12 months, and you’ll receive automated reminders from TrueMed before it expires.
If your LMN is expired, you’ll need to complete the TrueMed health survey again to regain your eligibility. If approved, your plan will be reactivated.
If you already have an active plan:
- Log in to the app and go to Profile.
- Select the gear icon in the screen's upper right corner, and then Account.
- Under Payments, tap Payment Method.
- Select HSA/FSA as your payment method.
- Enter your personal email and complete the Medical Survey provided by TrueMed.
- Enter your HSA/FSA card information in the TrueMed survey page.
📌 If you pay with a regular credit card, you will need to submit a claim to your HSA/FSA administrator for reimbursement using the LMN you receive. - Once TrueMed approves your eligibility and issues a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN), your payment will be confirmed.

- Log in to the Wellhub app.

- Select HSA/FSA as your payment method.
- Enter your personal email and complete the Medical Survey provided by TrueMed.
- Enter your HSA/FSA card information in the TrueMed survey page.

After you complete the health survey, TrueMed reviews your responses. Once approved, you will be notified by email that your Wellhub plan has been activated. This process typically takes up to 4 hours.
The payment for your subscription is first pre-authorized, and the final payment processing happens when the LMN is issued. TrueMed handles the full payment authorization and processing.
No, the HSA/FSA as a form of payment is available only to account holders. Due to the personal nature of the Letter of Medical Necessity, it can’t be extended to family members.
No. Wellhub does no direct handling of medical data or HSA/FSA card processing. TrueMed evaluates eligibility based on submitted information and handles payment authorization.
